I have been a specialist in sprinkler design and project management for 35 years and I am now a freelance Consultant with a great interest in training engineers on aspects of the sprinkler rules and in particular for the LPCB competency review examinations.

With these in mind I have developed intensive courses for the basic, intermediate and FHC examinations covering the entire LPCB syllabus. These are 5 day, 2 day and 5 day courses respectfully but could be shortened or held over several weeks depending on the levels of experience of the candidates or their company's particular requirements. They would be held on the company's premises or in a nearby hotel.

The courses use a PowerPoint presentation but includes a high proportion of exercises and worked examples and can be tailored to meet individual needs.

Each course assumes a basic level of knowledge and I would expect people taking the FHC course to know how to use their FHC software. I do however teach hydraulics from first principles to make sure that candidates fully understand the calculations and how to use them to make systems cost effective.

Training is essential for the individual designer and engineer and for their company if they want to keep up to date and improve profitability. I believe that my training courses do just that.
