The Danish Institute of Fire & Security Technology has published the results of a survey of over 500 sprinkler systems installed in Denmark and found that they had a 98% reliabilit!

It found that 98% of these systems were correctly designed for the risk and in good working order. The 2% of failures included systems shut down for maintenance. DIFT advised fire engineers to apply 98% reliability for sprinkler systems in their designs.
