An automatic fire sprinkler system stopped a fire from spreading in a northwest Las Vegas hotel on 16 January. Several people were evacuated from the hotel for a short time. There were no reported injuries.
Firefighters responded to the Hampton Inn hotel at 7100 Cascade
Valley Ct. (Tenaya / Smoke Ranch) at 8:04 p.m. Both automatic alarms
and the management called and reported the fire.
When firefighters
arrived, they found smoke on the second floor of the three story hotel which has 127 rooms.
Firefighters found the smoke coming from one room on the second floor.When they entered the room, they found a small item had burned in the room which was quickly extinguished by an automatic fire sprinkler. Only the item burned, the room was not damaged.Only the people in the room where the fire originated had to be relocated. |
